2:20 pm - The leeeetleeee beeebeeees of alll beeeeebeeeees...
Laaalalalallaaalalaa, has it really been that long since I've been here? Why, it has.

This weather is perfect, just perfect. Today is Aaron's birthday (Happy Birthday!!!) and we just had a delicious bbq lunch outdoors in the sun! Our office just moved from North Kansas City down to the Crossroads, so I can look out the door and see the SHS building (where Seth and Hilary work) so I love that. This is what i love - being on IM with Hilary and saying "ok! i'm about to run outside and wave at you! So wave back at me, okay?" scamper scamper out the door...WAAAVE!! she WAAAVES back! I laugh uncontrollably! I can tell she's laughing! I scamper back in "Did you see me waving?" OF COURSE SHE SAW ME WAVING. THAT WAS THE WHOLE POINT. But for some reason I needed to ASK her if she saw me. We are 5 years old.

But back to my point - so we sat outside just a couple of blocks away with all the duders that Aaron works with - drank a "cold one" (real men say that) and got a little pink in the sun! Can't beat it.

Our herb garden that we planted a couple of weeks ago is sprouting like crazy! The basil is the tallest so far..not that this is very interesting..but if you heard the voices of ours in our loft, you have thought we just delivered 27 babies. "OHHH LOOK BABE!! It's SOOO PRETTY!" Aaron leans down INTO the plant to see if it grew any more the past few hours. Oh, the joy. But I DO have to admit, buying new pots and whatnots for "the garden" has been sooo much fun! I'll keep you posted on their teething and toddler stages!

I need to put a new icon pic thingy here, i have new ashlee simpson hair that I need to share with the world.

bye now...

8:27 pm - I just feel like I'm in my Element...
Sorry. Just had to! We did it! We bought the new Honda Element this morning! It's totally sweet and feels amazing riding around in such a badass car!! SUV at that! So spaceous, yet not this oversized annoying vehicle guzzling gas! Since i'm too lazy to post pics, just imagine Todd's - EXACT same one! (thanks Todd for letting us be geeky in copying you!) AND it comes with XM Satellite radio for the first 3 months! We are lucky to be alive right now because on the way to the dealership, as we approached the parkinglot, I screamed with sudden excitement ....but going through an intersection, causing Aaron to jerk the steering wheel and almost hitting the person in front of us. Great timing Bev.

Other than that we bought some new pots and planting soil and 6 diff herbs to plant!! Sunny brought little Max and West to our side of town for the afternoon, so we had the nicest outting in the citymarket, getting flowers, herbs..etc! Max played "checkers" (Aaron's chess game) and West threw tennisballs down the loft, over and over! Sunny and I caught up on scandalous girl talk over some red wine, while Aaron played "dad" with the boys!

i'm so tired right now typing this, so i'm going back to the couch now.

Laura, how were those margs?

Nite y'all!

4:16 pm - Drive Right Through My Heart!
Today I had the most amazing drive back to work from lunch! First of all Amy Grant sang "Baby Baby" to me! The radio dial practially reached 11 for that! THEN, Phil Collins showered me with "Against All Odds" My hands were up in the air and on my chest joining him in a mental concert.....THEEEEEEEEEEEEEN, here is the kicker.....KELLY CLARKSON sang "Breakaway" to me! That's when all hell broke loose. Sunroof back...windows down...me singing at the top of my lungs "I SPREAD MY WINGS AND I LEARN HOW TO FLYYY" and you KNOW what that means? If me, Bev, sings the actual lyrics "i spread my wings and learn how to fly" it means someone needs to take their high heel and jam it into my temple. Pronto!

OH, our CDS ARE IN! FINALLY! If i can remember i'll post some pics soon of the cover art!!!!

yay!

"....i'll do what it takes til I touch the skyyy, i gotta, take a risk, make a change, and BREAAAAAAAAAKAAAAAAWAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY......"

Act 1: Babes in Toyland

Babysitting isn't something I regularly jump at doing....I actually haven't EVER babysit, i don't think. So this past Friday night wouldn't "normally" be somethign fun for 29 year olds to do on a weekend. But to look after Sunny's boys, Max and West is a different story all together. Upon arriving we looked down to 2 little jumping up and down screaming boys, SOOOOO excited to see "Beee aa Aaaa" (according to West, the 2 year old) First thing *I* did was fill up my glass of red wine to help me through the night. and yes, it's okay. Don't judge me. They had just bathed and eaten, so the hyperness at having new babysitters was off the wall! Aaron has taught school before to crumudgin's so he had more of a grip at what to do. We made paper boomerangs, watched cartoons and they climbed and jumped on Aaron allll night long!! We even let them stay up til 10:30!!! I got asked things like "Bevaaaarly, are fairy godmothers real?" Me, thinking oh no, what does Sunny tell them..."well, they ARE real, but i don't really call them 'fairy', but you can." Max: "What do they wear?" Me: (melting) "oh, normal clothes just like us..." Max, almost whispering: "Are they MAGIC?" Me, totally dying, "AWWWWWWWWWWW, i mean, well, in ways they are....i think.....friends can do some magical things for you..." i left it there..... Even after thoroughly enjoying an entire night with the two cutest boys on the planet, I pressed my birth control patch on a little tighter driving home...

Act 2: Courts Appeal

I hate sports. Most everyone knows this about me. haaaate it. But, as an elementary and junior high kid, my mom took my sister and me to play tennis all summer long, to keep us active and healthy. Those are fond memories. I actually got pretty good by the end of each summer. I actually have the same tennis racket that my dad used to play by my back windshield in my car, and friends often joke with me about being athletic and what not. HA. HA. Well, Aaron and I have been trying to find something to do exercise wise that we both like and can participate in together...SO, after finding him a cheapo racket at the goodwill and grabbin' some green neon balls at Target, off we went. The first issue though, pre-court was what to wear. Lord knows i don't have anything sporty, much less cute to PRETEND that is sporty, so some jank work out pants had to do. Tennis shoes? Ok, high heels won't do...cowboy scruntchy boots won't do...and the one pair of tennis shoes i have smell like rotting possum, so naturally I was vomitty putting my feet into them. ANYWAY, after all THAT we finally got to the court and attempted to relearn how to play tennis. Everyone knows that there is a grace and a certain ease to this sport. Not when *I* play. I look totally retarded swinging my racket and jumping into the air trying to even FIND THE BALL IN THE AIR. WHERE IS IT??? oh, it's behind me. "SORRY!!!" was a word I said alot to the expert players in the court next to us...because my ball wanted to be in THEIR game. It was pathetic. I do have to say that an hour or so later i was getting the feel once again of how to hold the racket and what kind of control to have in swinging. I practically looked like MArtina Navritvoltavwotlvbnwpidbnsld. It was gorgeous. Of course the funnest part for me, was yelling "Aaron! Do you have your balls? Make sure you are holding your balls!!"

9:11 am
I couldn't sleep last night. I lay there and lay there and my feet and toes continually moved and stretched and reached everywhere. I drank some green tea at dinner and i think the caffeine was teaching me a lesson. All I could hear was the sound of the fan (newly dusted blades mind you) above me causing my hair to tickle my forehead and Aaron's heavy breathing as he was luckily fast asleep. I was thinking about so much my mind wasn't even trying to rest. So. Annoying.

My back is so out of wack I can't even describe it. It makes my stomach feel full and then I get nauseous. which makes my chest hurt and that gives me a headache which makes me feel faint. i'm telling you, it's tow up. I'm looking for someone to rip my back out, roll it up in a ball like hamburger and pat it out and put it back in me. Was that gross, because i'm about to vomit just reading it.

I think the video store and the grocery store have teamed up against all consumers in KC and decided to rearrange the entire store just to make the shoppers verge on insanity. Or maybe that was just me. And speaking of the grocery store, this random overly-freaky-friendly-serial-killer dude was practically begging me and Aaron to buy this "MOST AMAZING SPICE" for chicken fajitas and Chili, and oh, burgers and maybe soup and OHHH Even on SALADS...i'm not kidding. Dude had googly eyes and was salivating all over this open jar of whatever spice as it was sprinkling all around him on the isle floor. We nervously put a jar into our cart and he exclaimed "OH I KNOW YOU ARE BUYING IT! HAHAHH I KNOW IT! HAHAHAHA" Um, Security?

60 degrees today! and it's January! Gotta love that....

4:18 pm - Proven Wrong!!
So one of my coworkers just got back from a business trip, and his hair was flat, due to not being able to wear hairspray because the bottle "blew up" from the airplane ride. So I made some fun of it, and immediately he retaliates with "Well, at least I don't wear silver with gold!" Hand to heart, I GASP and think "surely he is not referring to my faded silver bracelets!!!" "WHAT?!?! I don't!! What is silver??" Pointing to my bracelets he exclaims "THOSE! SILVER!" Me: "No they are not they are gold!!" (panic in my voice) Him: "MAYBE WHEN YOU BOUGHT THEM BUT THEY ARE SOOOO FADED!" Me, other hand to heart and DOUBLE GASP! "WHAT?!?! FADED?....These?? NAwwwww..." Giving in to the reality I never wanted to face, I humbly replied with "You are right. They HAVE faded. They are no longer the blingy gold they used to be." He walked away mumbling "Your bracelets might not look so bad if you hadn't have insulted my hair!"

Men!! And we say they don't notice anything!

Why do automated car washes rule? I love love love them. Last night I was on a mission to get off all dust and grime and left over snow on my car OFF since it's 2006. It's about time y'all. So we drove up to Parkville and drove through this amazing blow your face off world, known as the car wash. There we sat with high pressure water and soap and deluxe coat treatment something or other washing our souls clean. Now THAT is therapy. And the kicker was that since it was Sunday, everything was a dollar off! BAM!

So we are being audited, but it's good because once this is complete, our business will partner up with another business (we are being bought) and we get to move to a bigger more boodoooss place downtown. So, the two dudes here that are auditing us are working away, and I brought in some docs that they needed, and as I was leaving the room I thanked them. Apparently this has never happened before to any auditor EVER because time came to a screeching halt as gasps from behind me hit the back of my neck. I turned and looked at them. They were like deer in headlights. "No one has ever thanked us before." I chuckled, said "oh, really?" Now everytime I go in there I do little leprechaun dances of happiness just to put them both in a trance because they have only experienced the DARKNESS of life. i'm only kidding about the dances of happiness....youuuu...

Got my hairs did, my car all shiny, a new shower curtain, girl's night is tomorrow night, Aaron goes to San Francisco this week for work - bastard! and das about it.

YAY once again for Todd and Sarah!! (did you get it re-sized? Did it feel like giving up your first born?)

9:22 am - Ready to Roll!! (in the voice of the dixie chicks)
Are those even the lyrics to that song? Anyway, 2006 is here and the world looks crisp! Not really, but at the same time I'm feeling good to put all the stress of the holidays behind me and look towards the newness of this year!

The break was good, good, good. Fayetteville for .25 seconds was nice (hoffbraugh with carolyn and damon, and morning christmas eve coffee with eric and laura was wonderful) Little rock was cool. My parents got a grand piano for Christmas. Hello, a GRAND PIANO. i have NO idea how Santa fit that in his bag. My mom's joke was "Well, since we aren't getting a grandbaby for christmas, we are getting a baby grand." HA! And of course, my dad is all "Well, technically it's not a BABY grand, it's a conservatory grand, but not a full size GRAND, but in the midd..." SHUT UP TIM, It's a JOKE! Family......

Maine was so amazing. We skiied - we drank, ALOT. ate some delicious buttery lobster, clams, shrimp. The accents up there were cracking me up. I accidentally skiied down a blue and almost lost all my limbs. that ruled.

Back to real life. Time for new hair, a clean washed car, a spiffed up loft, new cooking recipes and an album to sell!

I hope everyone had the perfect break! it was sooo needed!!! Happy New Year, ya'll!

9:05 am - Blowin' the Dust off this site...
I forgot my dang username and password to this thang it's been so long.

not really.

I think of things to post about, but then i forget. Livejournal needs to create "post it" notes on their site, so you don't forget what you are wanting to post about...but then i guess you could just post it, and not forget to actually post...der.

TIS THE SEASON! it's snowing outside for the rest of the year practically and my mind is churning on all these upcoming parties! VML's was a complete BLAST! our New Tragedies holiday house "concert" (ahahaha) is this thursday and that's pretty much consuming us! We have no merch yet, but we are trying to make a cool looking display thing with handbills, email list, etc....

Album is ALMOST DONe. i know i've totally said that 8,253,535 times, but this i'm FO real. Once we get it sent to the pressing peeps, it's HERE. HERE. HERE.

Having some fondueeee next week with some fondudes and fondudettes at our lizzy.

I think PBS is getting to Aaron. and by GETTING TO i mean he's becoming mister KID CONCOCTION EXTRORDINAIRE SCIENTIST WHO SAVES THE BABY PANDAS AND KNOWS WHEN EVERY VOLCANO WILL ERUPT man. But that's okay. i'm obsessed with mister mustache griller duder and how to perfectly poach eggs, which i can't do -

oh, and we decided to become super ultra hippies at heart at the wrong time of year. we wanna grow our own herb garden but alas, 10 below is a no go.

9:25am??? WHA??? i thought i at LEAST killed like 4.5 hours doing this.....

9:17 am - Weekend Recap...
With last weekend being intensely busy, this weekend was QUITE the opposite. It's not that we didn't have any plans, because we DID, we just slept thru them all damnit.

* Made a big pot of stew to last til New Years day.

* Took our picture in one of those old photobooth's in an alley way next to a sassy undergarment shop downtown.

* Rescued our friend from the broken down elevator after the transformer blew in the River Market!

* slept through a birthday party - grrrrr.....

* Ate Grinders - yummmm

* went to some art openings and watched a movie being shot in the West Bottoms - "Rigged" - who knows about this....?

* Got a new bathroom mirror - a BIG one. now we can BOTH get ready at the same time.

* Watched "Category 7 - The End of the World" and got seriously terrified. not really. Shannon Doherty is looking jank these days.

The weather guy last night predicted that KC is only going to have about 16 inches of snow this ENTIRE winter. That is SUCH BS. Ok, this be it...

8:44 am - Boo! Did I Scare You?
Well, Halloweidner was pretty awesome this year!! We did NOT dress up - bonus! We didn't go to any parties - extra bonus!! Instead we went to this happy hour thing on Friday night to say G'bye to a long standing highschool friend who is moving to LA to make movies! Then home to watch Pet Cemetary! I had NEVER seen it! Saturday night we played a huge halloween show, sponsored by the Urban Culture Projects - it was called "mysterioso" Everyone was dressed up, but I just went as "bev, a little buzzed, playing a show."
The whole night was a blast! Yesterday we continued the festivities by laying on the couch from 10am (thought it was 11, then remembered) to 1:30 - up to get chipotle, then back on the couch at 2:10 until 11pm.

Today is the PERFECT halloween day! It's Dark, GLOOMY, SPOOKY, the leaves are blowing eerily down the sidewalks. Old men with beards are appearing to sweep them up. I EVEN saw someone getting to work via BROOM. things are weird up here in KC.

happy halloween, ya'll!
